My partner and I booked in to B+B Edinburgh for an overnight stay as a birthday treat. The hotel is ideally situated at the west end of Edinburgh, a very short walk from the railway station at Haymarket. The building is stunning inside and out. There are beautiful, decorative features in the foyer and breakfast room and the library is also worth a look. Our room was spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The temperature in the room was also comfortable and I was able to open a window for overnight fresh air as well. Breakfast consisted of a self serve for cereal/cheese/bread/yoghurt/juice etc and a hot dish selected from a menu served by the waitress. The food was nicely presented and freshly cooked and the choice at the buffet was extensive and again well presented and fresh. The staff we met were all friendly and helpful and sevice was prompt.

It was not an issue for me but if you like a huge bathroom this may not be the place for you.

    Fabulous

The hotel was within easy reaching distance of Edinburgh. The building was old and had been tastefully upgraded without losing any of the features of the older building. Very nicely done.

We didnt really speak to many staff and it was quite empty. There wasnt a warm welcoming atmosphere as there were no human beings to be found. So although it was really a lovely building and interior it had no heart or atmosphere and we probably wouldnt go back again.

We were going to a concert and the pleasure was greatly enhanced because we could have a pre-theatre meal, attend the concert then walk back to our hotel in a relaxed manner. For us we were happy to have a relaxing evening hot drink before retiring to our room. The room was well turned out and had an interesting view over Dean Village. The beds afforded a good nights sleep so all in all it made for a very pleasant stay in the capital. The following day we walked along Princes Street and shopped for a short time. This was more pleasant than usual as we started early after a good breakfast and were very unstressed. We will repeat the experience soon.

    We loved it.

There were 4 of us, 2 couples, and we all loved B+B Edinburgh. Fabulous building, gorgeous hotel with lovely rooms, great breakfast and the staff were friendly & helpful. A wonderful treat to have the coffee machine and shortbread for afternoon tea. We would absolutely recommend B+B to other travellers and would stay there again ourselves!

    Fabulous

Location; welcome; impressive entrance hall and marble staircase; standards of room comfort and cleanliness; very comfortable bed; outstanding view from 4th floor bedroom; library and other guest facilities; good breakfast - pretty much everything.

Shower and toilet were a bit restricted in space - very minor niggle only.

    Fabulous

Beautiful building. The library and breakfast room are old wood panelled rooms with a lovely atmosphere. There is a stunning marble staircase to the first floor from the lobby. Great to have a proper coffee machine available 24 hours.

Absolutely beautiful building with a rich history. Upgraded with modern amenities without destroying key components of the original structure. Super friendly staff and a great lounge and library.

The lift was super small, two people and two bags only. However, it worked just fine

Beautifull place to stay. An absolute pleasure. Spacious rooms, stylish. Very friendly staff. Stunning breakfasts! We really appreciated the coffee machine in the library. All round just stunning!

    Superb

The hotel is centrally located at the west end of the city, very convenient for most attractions. The style of the building, both the exterior and interior, makes for a peaceful stay at excellent price.

Great location-walking distance to most sights/attractions. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Although we were not traveling with our dog, we did see other dogs at the hotel- seemed to be pet friendly. Large (and tasty) breakfast each morning. Our room had a beautiful view of the castle.

Some noise from the street below.

    Fabulous

We particularly liked the atmosphere of this old grand cityhouse that was restructured and refurbished in a careful way, keeping the monumental aspects intact as much as possible and yet equiped with all the modern furniture and facilities the traveler of today longs for. The staff was very helpfull, the breakfast great, served in a splendid room next to an impressing turn-of-the-century library and the situation in the new town, close to Princess Streetgardens, excellent. We would strongly recommend it!

Generator noise in room 25, but I was immediately offered an alternative!

It is situated in a quiet residential area within walking distance of Haymarket Station. The building has an interesting history and some attractive period features E.G. in the breakfast room and library. It is also within walking distance of the footpath along the Waters of Leith enabling a pleasant stroll to the National Gallery of Modern Art and the Botanic Gardens. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The bathroom was spotless. The cooked breakfast was good and service was prompt and attentive.

We both really enjoyed what there was to offer, biscuits which you could have not limited or the coffee and tea. They were really helpful as we needed room for a couple more hours, as we needed to get ready for a friends wedding.
